Below is all the information that you need regarding painting
services offered. Included below are details on acceptable photgraphs
and pictures, canvas type and sizes, paints, and any special requests.
If you cannot find the information you are looking for then please
use the contact form on page 5.
Acceptable images - Feel free to send me photographs
of yourself, friends or family, famous people or landscapes and
buildings. I will not comission work or reply to emails sent with
indescent or inappropriate images.
Canvases - Works are painted on white duck splined
canvas stretched around a wooden frame. This promises a flat surface
when paint is applied and then dries. The splined canvas also
has the advantage of the edges being incorporated into the painting
without the need of a frame. Sizes available are 30x40cm, 40x50cm
and 45x60cm. FYI 2.54cm = 1 inch.
Paints
- Paints used are acrylic. Oil based paintings tend to yellow
and crack over time. Acrylic does not do this. It also has the
advantage of quick drying time, allowing for works to be completed
quicker. They can be mixed to any colour before being applied
to the canvas, which means I can offer any colour you wish.
Special requests - It is possible to seperate
images onto more than one canvas as in the example in my gallery.
Prices will vary. Again, this will be prearranged before work
has begun. Canvases can be set up with or without hanging hooks.
Refer to the link on page 5 for help with hanging your painting.
Turn your photographs into original hand-painted artwork.
Deciding on a photograph. This can be a
portrait, memorable day or holiday snap, famous person, sportsperson
or team, famous landmark or any picture you would like to
see painted in a larger scale in the style of the double gradient.
Here is an example of the full process using the Glasgow Auditorium.
On the left is the original.
Email the image to me. Attach the photo to an email and send it to me using the contact email address on the contacts page. I can then alter the image into the double gradient style. I will then email you back with a few samples of what your painting could look like. On the left is what I have done to the Glasgow Auditorium.
Final choices. Decide on any changes you
would like to make to the final design. This can include a
new design, different colours or blending colours. Then choose
a size. The painting is normally completed within 4 weeks
of deciding on the final design. Here I have gave the unique
design a much richer feel using a black and red blend.
